I got to say as cool as Robert Muldoon was in the Jurassic World Clever Girl shirt, he became a total imbecile in that final scene of his. The problem was he was going to use a gun successfully and we just can’t have that in the movie version, such a great character ruined. It was more that he hoped putting his hat out would serve as a distraction. He didn’t expect the Alpha to already have flanked him by the time he locked the stock in place.
