Up until this moment he was still just my little bug(I call him bug, idk why) In my head he was still clueless as to what was going on and I wanted to keep it that way. But he quickly proved me wrong. Instead of staying in my room with me he tried to go downstairs. When I asked him what he was doing he simply told me he was getting Hazel, our little sister. He has grown up enough to realize how he wanted to help her. The thing is she is 3 years old and her bedroom is downstairs so we would have to walk through my parents fighting to reach her.
Sadly we weren’t able to get her since it would make things worse to go downstairs and wake up my probably asleep sister and bring her past the fighting. But still this shocked me because it caused me to realize that my little freckle faced kiddo is on his way to being an insanely cool preteen. It also made me happy to realize that when I leave next year he’ll be able to help take care of Hazel if he needs to. That seriously went from zero to 1,000 in three sentences, no? How did she get from “no breakfast” to “starving children” so quickly? And also, has she SEEN the kid? He was 6′ tall in 6th grade. Did she think he was just randomly absorbing nutrients from the air?
